Hi

I am new to AnyRail and may have missed this but I have been looking to see if I can place a background image ( of a track plan or satellite image) into AnyRail and use that as the template for drawing the layout?  Please excuse me if this is obvious and I have missed it  Embarrassed

No, you have not missed it. It's on our to do list for a future version.

While you're at it, Dave, I'll hope for it to use any jpg or bmp image. I want to scan such into my computer from "printed sources" Smiley

Of course then you'll get people screaming because their chosen turnouts don't fit directly on top of such images. Then you'll need to explain that a lot of said drawings use NMRA or other standards for turnouts rather than the dimensions used by commercial track items [insert rolling of eyes here].
