I am forever changing my ideas with Anyrail but have just encountered this problem.
I cannot seem to get these peices of setrack to connect. It is a mirrored peice so I am totally baffled. Any ideas.

Joe

Hi Joe,

The problem is caused by the fact that the curved turnouts cause a slight displacement out of the standard geometry. It's only a few mm, but if added up from both sides, it's just enough to exceed the tolerances.

You can either increase the tolerances, or put in the last track 'by hand'. To do so, go to the 'Tools/Options' menu, and select the 'Behavior' tab. Uncheck 'Snap dropped parts'. Now, you can manually shift one of the problem parts into place, and if done correctly, it will connect at both ends, as it will no longer 'jump' into place at just one end.

In practice, when laying the real track, you will not have any problem at all as long as you stay within the tolerances.

Thanks David, the real world senario you mentioned was my worst fear. I try another layout and see what I can do.
