I purchased this program yesterday and it's fantastic and easy to use. I've been using the Peco Streamline 100 library and its worked a treat.

I've been looking to see if you can print out the design though in a 1:1 ratio so instead of then trying to transpose the design onto my layout i can simply glue it all down. I've tried a couple of times and all i get is blank pages. If i pull back i get something but not in the 1:1 ratio.

Is this something that's a glitch or something i'm not doing right?

Thanks!

Hi Soulnet,

If it prints in other scales, e.g. 1:10, then it should also print in 1:1.

If there's nothing in the top 30 cm (12") of your plan, naturally the first so many pages will be empty.

What you should see at least is very faint lines and markers along the edges of each page. These are meant to line them up.

If not, please send us your plan (.any file), so we can see what happens.

Also, please check your AnyRail version. We've had problems with printing on some printers about a year ago. If you have the latest version (3.30.0) you should be OK though. If not, please download and install the latest version (http://www.anyrail.com/download_en.html). During installation, your license key will automatically be transferred to the latest version.

Hi David,

Thanks for the response. I've checked the version and it's the version you've mentioned. I've printed it to PDF and i've got 445 pages of nothing Smiley Other scales print until you get to about 1:3 but then it only uses about 1/8th if the page instead of the whole page, i've looked at it and they don't seem to quite line up either as the bits are all missing inbetween.

I've attached the Anyrail file but can attached the PDF's of nothing or the partial things too if you want.

Cheers  Grin

Hello Soulnet,

Your .any file is OK. That's not the problem it seems.

Could you please try the 'Print Preview' (in the 'File') menu?

Otherwise I'd like to know what version of Windows you run, and the make of your printer (and printer driver version). Also, I'd be interested to know how you print to PDF. Do you use something like cutePDF (www.cutepdf.com) for that? If not, could you please try and see if that works?

We've tested the printing function with dozens of printers, but I should admit that printing is one of the most difficult things to get right in Windows software, as there are hundreds of printers, and thousands of printer drivers, and they do not all comply with Microsoft standards.
You might want to try and see if there's an update for your printer driver available.

Hello Soulnet,

To my surprise, a glitch has been introduced in version 3.27.0 of AnyRail. If the work area is not scrolled completely to the left upper corner, printing in larger scales does not produce anything useful.

Of course, we'll fix this as soon as possible.

Sorry about this, and that we did not spot it any earlier.

Soulnet,

This problem should be fixed in version 3.32.2.

I'm very sorry that it took so long, but we were not really able to reproduce it until now.
