(I posted this for Andrew, regards, David).

Hi,

I've been using the net for 10 year but have never used a forum before.
This is my 1st layout attempt and would be glad to hear form experienced users or layout makers.

I am open to suggestions where I can improve. My challenge at the moment is to find a place for the Good yards that I'm happy with as I keep moving back to the spot I now have it at. There are 2 long loops, 1 for each direction, and a side line.

Yours,

Andrew

It's looking really well planned out - have the table dimensions and everything sorted, not bad! I would say the trick with the layout will be to make sure the distances look longer than they really are - the layout's going to have to play off on a lot of visual trickery! Smiley

Thanks. I've updated the layout to include the height and ensuring that the tracks are no closer than 50 mm from the edge of the tables.
Any tips would be welcome. I plan to start building the layout in June, our Winter, however this will depend on when our new garage with a loft is finished.

Good stuff - as far as I can see you'll be having 3 different stations?
You probably could put the track at the back as being hidden behind a backdrop, thereby increasing the feeling that the train has travelled far to get to where it is!
