Hi! I have just begun planning my first n-gauge layout. I would be grateful for any comments, additions, changes etc.. I have used mainly Peco 80 Setrack. Any ideas if I need isolators, and if so where?

Many thanks

DIJ

Hello DIJ,

Thanks for your track plan.

To say something useful about it, please tell us a bit about what you like, as the design usually heavily depends on it. If you want to run more than one train for instance, your current plan might be a bit limited. The same goes if you want somewhat longer trains.

It's also interesting to know how much room you have.

What's good is that your main line does not have any diverting switches.

In your plan, I do not really understand the purpose of the double track that suddenly is discontinued. For a siding it looks a bit unnatural.

The station tracks are a bit short. I would advise to make them as long as you possibly can for more realism.

To give you some more (hopefully) useful comments, please let us know a bit more about your wishes: where is the plan situated, and in what era. Do you prefer passenger or freight trains?

David.

I added a picture of the plan.
