Dear hobbyists, This is my layout of the Hoogveld project in scale H0, the room measures 5 x 5 x 3,5m. There will be less railway tracks and more traffic roads (Faller car-system) with in the top-middle a hugh 4-lanes highway-bridge. Some of the roads are hidden (like the turning points at the ends of the highway). An industrial area at the left, 'big' city at the centre, mountain at the right and a amusementpark at the lower-right corner. Some of the tracks/roads are not finished yet.

Hi Jack,
Thanks a lot for your contribution.
I'm very impressed with your design! It looks very well thought out: not too busy and plenty of room for landscaping.
If you wish, we can put it on the main AnyRail website where it will attract a lot more attention.
David.

Hello David,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Sure no problem if you want to put it on the main website.

I can now see why David was giving this layout such rave reviews! Well done on getting such level of detail together. Are the measurements based on kit dimensions?

Yes, most of them are.
At first, I made a layout which had a lot more tracks and roads but when I started building, I got into problems with the dimensions of the buildings and levelling of the tracks and roads. (The tracks rise max. 3%, roads 6%) Also the carsystem needs wide corners. After putting this into a new design (it took quite some time to do so) I came up with this one.
I have allready finished the tables, I'm now getting the citycentre levelled and still need to make minor changes in the design.
The idea of the project was not to make a model railroad but a model world.
Glad you like it.
Jack

Thanks Jack, this is absolutely brilliant! Don't forget to take some pictures of your layout for us, I look forward to seeing how it translates to the real world!

This one I took while constructing the tables, its the foundation of the citycenter.
(if you look closely, I first set the borders with tesa on the floor)

Hi Jack, Thanks a lot for your interesting contributions! It seems like a very well planned project so far. Good luck, and let's hope for a long rainy winter David.
