Hi David,

Has anyone has raise this??

Would it be possible to see the layouts in 3D, with either:

1. a fly-through-view to ensure that the track heights in a spiral or helix are correct?

2. a simple view to see how the buildings and scenery will look, that is if they are also height adjustable.
or
3. a combination of 1 and 2.

Yes, this has been raised before (and discussed a lot in the team here!)

However, to do this right, we think there are multiple issues:
- It should be very easy to fly around and through the 3D view, much like in a video game. We've done some trials with this, but we're not too sure how to make this easy from the user perspective.
- To make the view more interesting, the track should not just hang in the air,but some groundwork needs to be done. We're not too sure how to make this easy for the user. We don't want to bother people with a complicated 3D editor, but prefer an interface where you can just point and click 'Mountain', or 'Wall'. Designing such an interface takes a lot of time.

But of course: if you have any good ideas on how this should work, please let us know!

David.

Google Sketchup, see my previous post, can do all of this ! Just convert your AnyRail track into Sketchup and you can fly arround from any eyepoint and camera-position. Including shades and such ........

Kind Regards,

Sander
