"Autosave" has been added to the software in version 3.26.0.
It saves a copy of your work every 10 minutes in a special folder, that you can find if you open the 'File/Autosave folder' menu in AnyRail. You can open auto-saved files from there. When you leave the program in a normal way, all these copies are removed, so your hard disk will not be filled with unnecessary stuff. Only the last four copies of your session are preserved. The file names of the copies follow a specific numbering system, so that if you have AnyRail running twice at the same time, these copies don't interfere.
So, what do you need to do if your computer crashed, or if AnyRail terminated in an unexpected way: - Start AnyRail. - Go to 'File/Autosave folder' and open the most recent file you find there. If it is not what you were looking for, try the other files in this folder. - The file will be named 'Untitled', so you need to save it in a normal manner when you leave the program.
Note: Of course we do everything to prevent AnyRail from crashing itself. If that happens, please don't hesitate to inform us to solve the issue: it's our main goal to keep AnyRail as robust as it can possibly be. However, there might be cases that you are running AnyRail, and your computer decides to reboot during the 'Windows Automatic Update'. Sometimes that may cause losing your work. Of course, in the case of a power interruption, you might lose your work as well. These are the cases that this feature should be of great help.
