User Defined Library
«

Is it possible to save user drawn shapes and sizes and then label them and save it in a user defined library to use again and again?
Also i possible to be able to link shapes with text so if you move it it takes the label with it so to speak.
Last thing is possible on lines is it possible to define an angle, i.e. 90 degrees so it's easier to make squares and rectangles or have a missed an easier way to do things?
Thanks!

Hi Soulnet,
There's no way to really create user defined elements yet.
However, you can create a layout file with your designs. If you start the AnyRail program twice, you can copy and paste things between them. Unfortunately, there's no such thing as 'grouping' yet, but we are preparing the software to support that in the future.
It's not possible to set angles between lines. However, you can create squares and rectangles quite easily by first creating a surface with four corners. Next, double click each of the four points, and set their coordinates manually to form a square. Copy and paste it. Now, drag a point with the SHIFT key down to resize the figure. If you drag one of the sides with the SHIFT key down, you can change the width or height of the rectangle. Please remember to use Ctrl-Z (Undo) if you make a mistake. Each time you need a new rectangle, copy and paste it from your 'source' square, and work from there.
Another note: if you drag an outer point of a line with SHIFT down, the angle will be preserved.
David.

Thanks for the reply. The shift thing works quite nicely. But you are still a bit restricted. I should've added too if you could set a line a particular length as well just like you do with the flex track.
Enjoying the program immensely non the less. Allows you to experiment so much more.
Cheers,

Hi Soulnet,
We're currently working on a major new release.
Line and surface drawing will be much improved.
You need a bit of patience though, it'll take a lot of time to get it through the testing stages etc.etc.
David.
P.S. Of course, your AnyRail 3 license will be valid for this new version as well.

Yep that's no worries. I haven't seen much of what has been announced for the new version so was just adding to the wish lists.
Cheers.
