Hello all,
Not a major update this time, just a few improvements.
This new version brings you three minor new libraries:
- N Kato Unitram (only the track items currently available so far)
- Lux railcleaner H0
- Proses buffers
We also added turntable 1780/6018 for Fleischmann.
Some minor fixes and changes in this release:
- Activation of 'Smooth Slope' function improved
- Crash solved in 'Export as picture'
- Small redraw issue with lines solved
- When selecting multiple line points, their style can be set at once
Have fun!
David.
Note: Version 4.17.1 solves an issue for XP users that still have Internet Explorer 6.
Note: Version 4.17.2 fixes problem with H0e/H0m Tillig mixed gauge turnouts.
David,
"- N Kato Unitram (only the track items currently available so far)"
Do I assume from this statement that all the other non-track pieces are coming in the future?
Chaz
David:
Isn't a new version supposed to download when I open 4.16? I even asked it to look for a new version, but I didn't get one.
Bill
Hi Bill,
I think this happens because you helped us testing and ran a 'test version'. This might confuse the regular update mechanism.
You can always just download and install the latest version from our website. That has the same effect as running the update from within the program.
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience!
David.
Hi Chaz,
Yes, we want to add at least the N Kato Unitram street elements. But new track elements have been announced as well.
We are trying to get in touch with Kato to get a complete list of items and their measurements.
David.
Hello,
I downloaded most recent update 4.17, unfortunately it broke my computer by deleting Windows file Normaliz.dll., preventing me from reopening Anyrail, and preventing system restore from working. Reinstalling Anyrail failed to solve the problem, so a full system reinstall was carried out. Before reinstalling all my other data, I reinstalled Anyrail and tried the update again. Same result. Any ideas please?
Hi Chipmunk,
AnyRail did not remove that file! Don't worry!
AnyRail depends on a file that's part of Internet Explorer to draw the checkboxes etc.
For some reason we're still investigating, you need at least version 7 of the Internet Explorer. I think you're still on version 6.
So if you update your Internet Explorer to the latest version, you'll be fine!
David.
Hello David, Thanks for your swift response. I use Firefox 6 as default browser, but have IE6 available. Sorry, I should have mentioned my OS is XP. Would this still have the same effect? Would uninstalling IE solve the problem?
Hi Chipmunk,
Yes, you need to update IE6 to at least IE7. Don't uninstall it, just update it.
The fact that you don't use it doesn't matter. AnyRail just needs one file that comes with IE7 (and newer).
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience!
David.
I think we've found the cause of this problem. If you don't want to update to IE7, just wait a little while.
It'll be fixed very soon.
David.
Hello David, Thanks for your attention. Have installed IE8, and everything looks good. Thanks again.
Steve
The problem should be solved with version 4.17.1.
David.
Hi David,
Having a few issues with this version. My Windows XP sp3 machine seem to freeze, crash then reboot the system. Unfortunately giving me the opportunity to send you an error message.
Is anyone else having the same issue?
Yours,
Andrew
Hi Andrew,
No, I've not heard this problem from others.
Did 'Windows update' install any new drivers last Tuesday or Wednesday?
If it happens when you start AnyRail, would you please try and start the program while holding down SHIFT. This resets the program.
Please let me know how it goes!
David.
Hi David,
Yes there were some Windows updates, September's malicious software was one.
I've restarted with shift key and as yet has not crashed.
Thanks.
Andrew

Hi David,
i know its an old post, but couldnt find more yet.
is there anything availabe yet for Kato Unitram street tracks?
i love working with Kato track and tram and would love to integrate some unitram pitures.
I have made them myself as surfaces with images, but they are not professionally made in perfect size; however they do work for me.
If anyone interested i can share them.
For me it looks like this now and makes me happy: (just the unitram part)

A few of the N scale road plates were added as user objects. Adding these as AnyRail objects is still on the wish list. Track always comes first when we add something...
