We've heard from several people that they've problems starting AnyRail, and get a message that api-ms-win-crt-string-l1-1-0.dll is missing.
To get AnyRail 6 running on Windows Vista, Windows 7 or 8, you need all the latest updates, and especially:

You should have no problems at all on Windows 10.

The above link still works, but it seems the links in the Microsoft article no longer work.
The missing dll is part of a Microsoft update, KB2999226.
It's a recommended update. You can try to trigger this update through Windows Update (from the Windows Settings).
