First time to make 1:1 drawing of a Layout.
Using the Export to PDF feature.
I am using both A0 & A1 Portrait
Height of paper is 156"
DPI set to 245
Printout of layout is fine, except it adds about 10 extra pages.
I have looked at all my setting and cannot find anything that would make the printout with so many extra pages, they are all blank except the very top edge of the pages with what looks like a horizontal line with 12" tick marks.

Could you please post your plan here? It might help to find out what is going on.
As far as I can see your work area is bigger than then plan. At the edges it gives empty pages. I think the problem of empty pages will be solved if the plan fits tight in the work area.

I tried that and did not make any difference. The Export is working and shows the boundaries of the drawing plus the extra area defined for the layout.
I will see the David says about this.

Dennis, what is the exact size you've picked for the page? You mention A0/A1, but with a 156" paper height.
However, A0 and A1 are a lot small than that.
Please note that you can either select one of the default page sizes (such as A0, A1, etc), or set a size manually.
I've tried your layout of course, and the resulting file is over 100MB. I noticed that my PDF viewer had some trouble displaying it; it needed a number of seconds to completely draw a page. Perhaps your PDF viewer plays a role here too?

That is what I got also. A lot of drafting printers have paper on a continuous roll, you can print as lone as the paper roll if you want.
To the stitching to a minimum I wanted to printout the full height of the layout as one sheet of 13 feet. The large file size is due to the increased DPI setting, wanted to keep the
resolution as fine as possible.
Yes, it take a short time to display a file like this. The pages look good and does have the display broken down into 13 foot lengths and the paper width is correct also, nothing was missing or omitted as I could tell, just all the extra pages.
I did a test also on limiting the paper height the 48" as the office stores like, but still has a lot of extra pages.
A0 & A1 are the widths in your print setup, the height is the length of the printout.
We did print it on 48" lengths and that worked fine,

OK, now I see what happens.
You set the paper height exactly to 'Width' of the work area of the layout. In principle this works, but I think you forgot about the margins. Now, a second row of pages is needed to print the complete layout. The margin is another setting in the PDF Export dialog.
So what you need to do is either set the margin to 0 if your printer can print without margins, or set the height to 156 + 2 times the margin (top and bottom).
OK, will try that David.
Update: Just tried setting the Margin to Zero and that fixed the problem.
