This way it would save a lot of frustrations becuase one would name the section immedeately after it is created, in order to avoid a lot of unnamed sections.
I also wonder if it would be possible to add more usage types for instance a free text choice.
It would also be nice if they were layer specific so different layers could have different sections.

Yes, moving the cursor could probably be done.
You can enter anything you like for the usage type. Just make sure to use Enter when you're done typing the usage.
