It still seems a little sluggish, especially when zooming out (5.9.4). I can zoom a few clicks of the mouse wheel before the display refreshes. I made sure my video drivers are current. Of course there's no way to benchmark the response, so it could be on my end.

It might also depend on what you have in the track plan. For instance large pictures (jpg's) can influence the performance quite a bit.

Perhaps you can send us the track plan so I can 'profile' it.

My current track plan is pretty basic (only around 100 elements), so I don't think that complexity is the issue.

This is a "temporary" layout which sits on my old desk, which I bought from my employer when they decided everyone should have new stuff.  Pain in the butt to move, but I love it!

Not sure what's happening here - when I look at my previous post as a guest, it doesn't show the attachment, when I log on it does.  Did it come through, or not, please, David?

David,
The plan is the one in the post 'N scale help'. I didn't even modify it.

It has to do with the program's decision when to redraw when quickly zooming in or out. It's apparently not redrawing at the right time now. I'll take a look at it.
