Dear all,

Version 5.11 has:

- Better performance
- Label list in 'File/Info'
- Accuracy setting for number of decimals
- Improved create grade
- Usage for sections has become a free field
- Language can be selected at runtime. Apart from the 'official' 5 languages (EN, ES, FR, DE, NL), this now includes user translated files for Danish, Swedish and Polish
- List of materials: flexes are properly sorted on length
- Manuals have been removed from the distribution. F1 or Help should redirect you to the on line manual. PDF manuals will be put on the website
- Autosave keeps the last saved file after exit of the program
- Library updates for Fleischmann H0, Lionel O, O Peco Code 100
- Download of user objects made a lot faster
- Shift-nudge (using the arrow keys) now moves the object only a very little bit
- Problem with recent fonts in font list fixed

Have fun!

David.

5.11.1 Adds Finnish as an additional language. Thanks Tapani!
5.12.2 Language switch moved to Options/Languages. Danish and Finnish language updates. Fixed problem during opening of file (sequence numbers error).
5.13.3 Solves a redraw issue and solves problems with some older license keys.

Yay for slope function improvements!  :D

And yay for selectable accuracy for decimal places!  ???  Wait, there seems to be a bit of a problem here.

If I drag and randomly drop a piece of track and select an endpoint, in the status bar at the bottom I get the correct x,y coordinates to the selected number of decimal places, but at the top where I can input new numbers I see the decimal is in the wrong position, one place to the left of where is should be, in other words, 80.553 instead of 805.532.

I had also hoped we would be allowed up to 4 decimal places. If you're working in inches, 1/8 is .125, but 1/16 is .0625, and I know in N scale that would not be an uncommon measurement.

The pop-up input boxes, on the other hand, seem to be displaying correctly.  :)

As always, many thanks for you efforts and improvements.

David

Hi Alex,

Indeed, it seems that sometimes the values in the boxes at the top display in cm instead of inches.

I take a look at it.

Well done, David!

Some really helpful features. A real Christmas present for us users.

I tried downloading new user objects since I hadn't done it for a while.
Got the 'No new objects' message originally as Mike reported, but it's only transient and the correct values and list come up correctly as soon as the download actually starts, so its not a problem for me - Mike should be more patient!

Thank you!

David

Version 5.11.1 should resolve the issue with the false values, user objects download, and adds Finnish as a language.

Haven't had the chance to try it yet, as she-who-must-be-obeyed has other plans for me today!

But it looks as though David has managed to fix most of my niggles in one go (still waiting for set-and-forget fonts, though!)

Now let me start agitating for the same thing in rotating things. Yes, I suppose I can find someplace to enter a turn in one degree increments, but that's not 'user friendly' to me. Then, I would guess, someone (He must not be named) will say that we should have a place to set the teensy amount and have it in the Options menu. Not me, you understand, but someone... Maybe the same person will want it settable to 4 decimal places? :D

Version 5.11.1 magically changed to 5.11.2 without any comment on the forum.
What's the difference?

Jeff

This one is gingerbread-flavoured, to suit the season :D :)

I agree, this would be a good bit of functionality to add, particularly for people using sectional track. You could even make it shift-turn by 1 degree increments and ctrl-shift-turn for 1/10th degree increments for those people who desire impossible-to-see-in-the-final-layout accuracy.  :P

" and ctrl-shift-turn for 1/10th degree increments for those people who desire impossible-to-see-in-the-final-layout accuracy"

Nope. It's all about working with, umm, full-roadbed sectional track [yes, I mean Kato and Bachmann, etc.]. Sometimes you can't get connects in AR because the track needs a nudge one way or the other. Something that makes that easier can only be a good thing.

How do I download the update for ver. 5.11 please?

David

Normally you can check for updates from within AnyRail:
File/Help/Check for updates.

Otherwise, just download and install from our website. The program will normally register itself when you have a license.

I notice that the Materials List now shows Objects at the head of the list.  Is there any plan to have them show up in their layers as well?

Otherwise, it all looks good!
