Trying to make a track object

I am attempting to make the R381-10 10° 381mm Kato curved track piece that comes in the 20-286 Curved Turntable Extension track Set.  Was not able to find any way to make track objects in Any Rail.  \Has any one made curved track user objects?

Thanks,
Bill

David

They're in the track library, following the 20283 turntable: 20283FSL and 20283FSR.

David,

I am not talking about the turntable pieces.  I am talking about the two 10° 381mm (15") curves in the upper right hand corner of this picture of the Kato 20-286 Curved Turntable Extension Track Set.  The set come with right and left 15" (381mm) radius 10° fitted connecting tracks with ties, 2 62mm standard straight track sections, two curved (one right and one left) fitted turntable track sections (the 20283FSL and 20283FSR track pieces already in the library that are 678mm radius), and two additional track lead pieces to install on the turntable.  There is also an example of this piece of track in the track plan at the bottom of page 8 of the turntable manual.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, I'm sorry you're right.
Do you happen to own this set, and does the track have a part number on it? I mean something like 20-xxx? I can't find any reference to this part other than this this set.

I don't own the set yet (or the turn table for that matter).,. Still playing with track plans and the only designation I have seen is the "R381-10"  name on page 8 of the Kato turn table manual.

Thanks,
Bill

A Google search on "KATO Download R381-10" will give you a link to download the KATO document.  Page 11 has a drawing that shows how the part is used.

David,

I was ginally able to get to my local LHS and they were kind enough to let me look at the piece of track in question to get the part number.  The only number on the back of the track is "R381-10" so I guess that is how Kato identifies it since it is only available with the Turntable Curved Extension Track Set.

David,

As a corollary, I sometimes have a need to include track images in my user objects, lift bridges, rail barges, bridges, etc.  Is there any way to use standard track images as part of a user object?  Grouping doesn't seem to work.  I have created images of track in the roadbed, sleeper and track modes which works when viewing a plan but is very labor and time consuming.  Changing lengths and creating curves is also very difficult.  If there currently isn't any procedure for creating user images with imbedded track can this be added to the wish list.  Possibly the ability to explode images in the track library would be a good start.  Thanks for your consideration!

@Carl: Indeed, at the moment this is not possible. This has to do with the connection points of the track. When the group (or user object) is moved, one would probably like, in case of track, that it connects, just like a normal piece of track. This logic is not yet available.

@Bill, if still relevant: If you go To FILE/Options/General, and select 'Description' instead of 'Part number', you'll see the KATO description you mention on each track element.
The part number is the product number.

David,

Connectable end points would be the ultimate but since I am using track images as part of a user object I could use the ability to explode current track images and use them to great effect without connectability.  There are numerous user object bridges on file but few have track and look less than complete in track plans, especially if they are curved.
