I just downloaded the V3 or Anyrail and delighted to see Z has been added. However, I have found an error in Pt.No. 8510. Although the hint gives the arc correctly as 45 degrees, the item itself is only 30 degrees. Hope that helps.

Best wishes,
Chris

I have now bought my copy of AnyRail.

In addition to those track items already provided there are several more that may not be available new but are present in large numbers second hand and from old stock. They are:

8592 - Adjustable Straight 100-120mm
8597 - Uncoupling track 110mm
8599 - As per 8589 but 110mm
8997 - Extension pieces for 8998/89981
8998/89981 - Turntable. [170mm ext dia, 132mm dia deck, 24 exits (15 degree intervals).]
8994/89941 - Transfer Table. [Complex - I can scan dimension details and email you if you like.]

I have all of the above except the transfer table.

A couple more minor errors:

The second 8588 should be 8589
8568 and 8569 are out of numerical order.

I have played about with the application and seem to be getting somewhere with it though I don't find it as easy to use as my old programme.

Finally, I cannot see how to add buildings as shown in some of the examples. (Having said that, I haven't checked in the manual.)

With best wishes,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks again for your clear feedback.
Of course, the exact dimensions of the transfer table are very relevant! It would be great if you could send them to us.
We will try to schedule your suggestions for the next normal release.

Thanks David. :o)

A couple of items I overlooked:

8931 - Buffer stop [16mm long positions at end of track.]
8991 - Buffer stop [15mm. Clips onto track - not sure how you woudl be able to implement this though.]

There is also a reverse loop set 8993.

I will put the transfer table on my web space at <http://trains.manvell.org.uk/transfertable.gif>. Let me know when you have it so that I can remove it.

I can also give you dimensions etc. for standard Marklin buildings (e.g. roundhouse, coaling station, etc.

Best wishes,
Chris.

PS Have found 'Surfaces' and 'Text' - another problem solved. Gradients and flexible track next.

I've got it. Thanks!
We've got all sorts of Marklin catalogues here. When we get to the structures, they will probably prove to be a good resource!

Great stuff. I will take down the image now so don't lose it!!

If I can help in any other way, do let me know.

Best wishes,

In version 3.3.0 of AnyRail we've added all the parts, except 8592 and the buffers.

Many thanks David. I'm not surprised by the omissions!

With best wishes,
Chris.

Later: I have put the turntable into position but am having problems with the 8997 piece. It took a while for me to realise what it was. Having done so I find that it seems to only connect at one end (i.e. it can be locked to the turntable or the approach road, but not both). (Thinks: I wonder if I can use the 8997 as a length of ordinary track by adding a fishplate.)

PS: Well, having written that, I now find that it is working as one would expect, so I don't know why it all went wrong first time round.

From my previous message, you can see that I seem to have had a problem with linking track ends. Then I thought I had it sorted. However, I have managed to quantify the problem to a certain extent. What I have found is that whenever I delete a bit of track and try to replace it with a different one, the new one does not snap to the vacated track end. This can be seen on all three entry roads to the turntable and on Gleis 5 and the headshunt adjacent to it. As far as I can see, this has only become a problem with the latest version of Anyrail.

Best wishes,
Chris.

Hi Chris,

Your problem has to do with heights.
If you go to 'Tools/Options' and select the Drawing tab, please check 'height on plains'.
What you see then is that part of your track is at height 0, while other is at height 5.

For that reason, the track refuses to connect.

Hope this helps!

Ahhhhh. Thank you David. I had increased the height of one bit of track in an attempt to be able to remove it. It must have fed into the whole turntable area. and has probably fouled up the entire layout!

The service from you guys (well, yourself really) is awesome - thank you.

Best wishes to the whole AnyRail team,
Chris.
