Hello Happy Members !
Can I do that with the free version ? Many thanks for all your answers.

1. insert a rectangle into your layout (the size does not matter)
2. select the rectangle
2A. tick load image and find an image file (jpg, gif, bmp, tiff, png)
2B. make sure the maintain aspect ratio box is ticked
2C. enter the width of the image inside the small box (1800?)
2D. tick adjust outline to fit the rectangle to the image
2E. drag the rectangle to fit on your layout
3. Drag your track until it fits the image

The free version and the registered version are the same in terms of functionality.
The only limitation is in the number of track elements (max 50) for the trial version.

If you have a scan of a track plan, you can simply enter the page size to scale it right.
Otherwise, you might have to guess a little bit about the scaling.

If you set the surface's attributes to 'Background' and glue it, you can just put the track elements on top of it to match the track plan.

Please note that many older hand drawn plans are not very accurate, and may seem not to fit.

Once you click your rectangle, at the top right of your screen will be "Load Image" at the end of the menu bar.
