Hi everyone, I need help with setting up an 1200x2400mm N-Gauge layout which I want to populate with Flex-track.
I will really appreciate your help as I'm a complete Newbie to Anyrail !!

You're not giving us much to go on.
Firstly, at 1200x2400 I hope you can get all round the board as it's too wide to reach over if its against a wall.
A completely blank canvas is not helpful - what are you trying to aqcheive? A passenger layout with continuous running? A shunting layout with lots of industries? Steam era or modern? Do you want to include catenary wires for electric traction?
At least give us a starting point to work from.

Have a think and come back with your vision of the leyout.
Enjoy yorself - while it's all on paper it costs nothing.
Good luck!

OK so you're new to AnyRail, but how new are you to model railroading??

Gents, I'm not new to N-Gauge, I'm an proverbial "out-of-the-box" thinker....I built a layout some years ago (but had to sell) N-Gauge are NOT well represented in South Africa.

The plan is to have more rail than houses, a bit of background Industry - typically a Chemical/Process plant with a Tank farm. Dual Main line that will have a decline and incline, station with at least 4 platforms and yes, Modern era with mostly Diesel Locos, DMU's and EMU's (Catenary wire to follow later), a nice large Shed (I will try and attach some typical photos) with a Shunting

I love modelling Water and bridges, thus a river running into a harbour is on the cards as well.

The board is a walk around with DCC and Insulfrog turnouts.FB_IMG_1593021676106.jpgFB_IMG_1593021676106.jpg4671e4aceefe75ffcd9511a5ba452450.jpg

Unless that board is accessible all around — an island in the room — this will get tricky. Speaking of which what does the room look like?
With all you seem to have on that list I would go for linear along the wall; creating a U. i.e. cut the 1200 by 800 into strips.

Thank you for the feedback. The Board 2400x1200mm is accessible from all side yes with more than enough room to move around. I was actually thinking of attaching a smaller piece on to make it an "L" shape, making it narrower and longer with the smaller L sticking out

But I still don't know how to work AnyRail

You really need to just play with it and explore the many menu options - you can find out a lot that way (it's how I started).  But there is a very comprehensive manual that you can download here... https://www.anyrail.com/en/documentation

There's also online help here...  https://www.anyrail.com/help_en/index.html

There are also a few tutorials about Anyrail.

and further.

Ooops! yes... 2400x1200!

Now to the problem.
For the basic step by step I would highly recommend the tutorials. https://www.anyrail.com/en/tutorials
In nice contrast to other "stuff" it is strictly visual.

After trying those actual functions I would draw the outline of the room in which the 1200x2400 is to be placed, including all doors and windows etc.

By the way, and this is strictly my opinion, if you have no "legacy" from using other track planning software and/or graphic software it will be a lot easier to learn.
