Is there any way to make more than track and table top visible in 3D mode? Structures, user objects, lines and those sorts of things.

David

No, I'm sorry. The 3D viewer was originally designed to check track heights.

Of course we're continually developing the product, and it's on the wish list to improve the 3D viewer.

I thought that might be the case. Still, I'd love to see the 3D viewer developed further. Thanks!

Well kind of sort of . . .  I have been able to use small surfaces where there are buildings, give them an appropriate height value, and check the check the "height contour" box. That makes them show up in 3D, but kind of strange looking. Still, it's enough to help visualize with.

Nice!  That's what I do as well.

How do you get what I assume are the walls in post #3?

In the Insert tab, you create a closed shape - it can be a rectangle or any shape with angled, rounded or curved corners, but it must be a closed area.  Then select that line.  The Surfaces tab will become active.  There you can specify the height of the line and there is also a tick box to say that it should be treated as a height contour.  Make sure that box is selected.  Then, provided that the height that you specified is above the height of any surrounding surface, the shape will be visible in the 3D view.
