Add parallel problem

Tha attached file is just something I've been messing about with to relieve boredom!  However, I have struck a problem with the "Add parallel" function.  At the bottom of the layout, you will see two pieces of curved flex, which are obviously out of position.  These appeared when I added parallel (26.4mm right).  The unconnected track in the middle of the layout was added in the same way.

I've tried both rightclick-select and highlight-ribbon-option methods, with the same result.

The piece at bottom right is the correct radius for a 26.4mm left selection, but is going the wrong way anyway!

This only appears to happen in the bottom, say, third of the layout.  I tried opening a new file and doing some parallels, but couldn't reproduce what's happened here.

Any ideas?

This happens when curved flex is flipped. It will be fixed in the next update.

I think I can give a history of the segment at bottom right.

First I created the loop at left, using "add parallel" to add the outer track, with the double straight track parallel to the left edge (ie 90°).  Then I flipped it and rotated it 15°.  Later, I copied the bottom 4 pieces to make the bottom right loop.  This wouldn't have caused a problem, except that, by making a 14° 457mm radius curve to bring the diverging track back to parallel in the original loop, I had created a larger track spacing than usual.

So, when I added the copied parts at the bottom right, the spacing was wrong.  So I tried to do it again, with the correct spacing, having deleted the outer track, with the result you see before you.

I assume, from what you're saying, that the only fix at present is to delete those parts that were flipped, and recreate them before "adding parallel"?

Yes, I'm afraid you need to redo them.

Hi David,

I just installed AR4.24, and then retried the add parallel on that bit at bottom right.  It still did the same as before!

So I assume that the "fix" only applies to future work, and that the error is sort of embedded in the existing plan; would that be a fair assumption?

@Nick: True.
The problem was not so much in the 'Add parallel' function, but in the 'Flip' function for flex track. So yes, it only works for future work.
