How can I convert previous designs done in autocad into Anyrail format?
I would also like to catch up with other railfans using Lima track with particular iinterest in South African Railways.

David

There is no import function in AnyRail for AutoCAD files.
What sort of things would you like to import? Just track or other types of elements?

At the present time only track geometry from prevoius designs I did on AutoCad. What I have found with anyrail it gives exact track dimensions which really helps when designing a new layout.I also have moved to a new location and space is very tight so measurements have to be exact , so that the locos will make the curves without touching the wall or sides.

I'm afraid that I have to disappoint you here.

It's virtually impossible to import an AutoCAD design into AnyRail, as the conversion needs to figure out which parts are used, and make up for all the inconsistencies between the AutoCAD file and the track definitions in AnyRail.

The best way is probably to use the AutoCAD plan as your example and rebuild the plan from scratch in AnyRail.
