Hello,

Well it's been many years since I last touched AnyRail - simply because I placed model railroading a bit on the side burner whilst focussing on other things, but now I seem to be heading back into it and I've been working on revisiting my project after many years using the latest version of the software.

Lots of improvements since the 2008-2009, I see :) - well done to the AnyRail team on the new improvements!

Looking forward to catching up with everyone!

Happy New Year,

Kimbo

Hi Kimbo,

Welcome back! Sorry for the slow reaction, I was at the railroad show in Rijswijk (Netherlands) this weekend.

Looking forward to your updated plans!

How was it??

I've changed jobs a couple months back, resulting in me coming up to the Netherlands every week. It's quite nice being a frequent Thalys traveller!

Yes, the Thalys is much better than the Fyra  ???

It was good fun. I was there with my side product, the Magnorail cyclist.

A lot of interest, and quite a few sales I should say!

Indeed, that Fyra gives such a bad name to our rail travel it's quite unbelievable  :o... The one time I experienced a massive delay was in part due to a Fyra having broken down ahead of us... so yeah, even if you don't travel on it it finds a way of hurting ya!

Congrats on the sales, though the great product speaks for itself. :) Easiest to use, loaded with features, great pricing. Only thing it misses now is the full Faller, Vollmer, and Kibri building sets  ;D

Hi Kim,

Well, I wasn't there with AnyRail but with our H0 scale cyclists.

The Fyra is a big shame. Good you can take the Thalys to work instead!
I hope you like your new job. So it's partly in Amsterdam?

You reap what you sow, not selecting reputed names which are giving you a realistic price for a high speed machine was certainly not a good move. (and personally I find it to be one of the ugliest high speed trains I've seen!)

re: job
Yeah 2 days up there and 3 days in Brussels. :) It's great, feel like I live in two cities and have a jet setter lifestyle!

Even the Thalys has its moments - I sat for hours in a broken down Thalys in between Brussels and Paris a couple of years ago.

kimbo

Hope you collected the free ticket  ;D - and that it wasn't for work!  >:(

It was for work, so I wasn't paying (and I didn't get the free ticket).
Was on my way back from Paris - should have been home about 8pm - got in just after midnight.
Ah! Those were the days. Retirement is much better!

kimbo

That's definetely improved then, probably thanks to the new EU directives on cross-border passenger travel 'cause I got a voucher + free miles for my train having had a delay of about 45-50 minutes.

It probably hasn't changed that much - any refund or free ticket would have gone to my company and I just get the inconvenience.

kimbo

Aaah! I just collect that and use for my private journeys!  ;D
