The example is using a scanner and grabbing the image from the Walthers catalogue.

The next steps: 4 through 6

Hint: Since many mfgs who produce the same item in different scales use the same image, we can also cheat be simply resizing that image to whatever size and be done.

Step3: How do you insert the picture into AnyRail?

RhB_HJ

You save the cleaned up jpeg file in a folder, then import the image from that folder.

I think the question related more to the import *into* AnyRail....

Create a surface (shape), while it's selected, the option to import an image appears on the ribbon
Select it and you're off to the races.....

That's possible, but equally possible is the attempt to use copy/paste to import, which doesn't work.
Sometimes it is also a matter of RTFM for the details. ;)  :o :)

And since this is AnyRail (with tongue firmly in cheek): Don't look for the "any key".  :-X :-X

Manuals?  This stuff has manuals?

I'm of the school that believes if you can't figure it out, either:

  • It wasn't worth doing, or
  • It's the software designer's fault, and time to CTFTS.  (That last "TS" doesn't stand for what you think it does - try "Tech Support"  :D ;)

Ohhhhhhh I call that being learning resistant.

Doing that I'd still be looking for the "any key".

I had tech support solve that problem....

They told me it was a specifications error when my keyboard was designed and I should get piece of tape, write "Any" on it and tape it above the Z on the Z-key, since no one used that key much, anyway.  Funny how, after all these years and all the keyboards, they never did fix that....

;D ;D ;D

In the mean time I'm adding more UDOs to the libraries, without actually having to revert to drawing the plan view.
