Displaying User Objects OVER the tracks, not under the tracks.

How do you get a User Object to be displayed OVER a track, not under the track.  I have a structure that the track always passes over and obscures the photo I have inserted into the structure.  I have tried using the bring to front, but is does not work when dealing with objects and tracks.

Make sure the height of the object isn't lower than the height of the track.  If they're different, the higher one will appear on the top.

If they're the same (and you don't want to fake it by giving the mine a slightly higher height), just delete the object and add it again.  The default is the newer object will appear on top, so adding the object after the track will place it on top.

Added by edit: BTW, I just tried the "bring to front" and "send to back" on the object and it worked just fine for me, not sure what you're doing differently.

Adding the item again did nothing.  The height setting was the problem.  The tracks were set at 16" to simulate the higher mountain area for viewing in 3D, and the building elevation was still set to zero.  When I changed the building height (elevation) to 18", it worked.

Bob,

You have no idea all the fun you missed prior to ver5.  Now it's straight forward.

Mike's law:  If  you offer every conceivable answer, there's at least a 10% chance one of them will work..... :)

Yeah, the one thing I have always hated about computers is that they always do what you tell them to do, not what you want them to do! ::)

Loving your idea of including a picture. I should try and do that too!

Kim,

I ran that as a trial balloon some time last year when we were still in ver4, but rather than inset the picture I added it on the side. Insets will only give a reasonable idea with large structures that allow the space.
