Does anyone know if there are car/truck control systems available to have cars on the roads in a layout move?

David

Well, of course there is Faller cars, and then you have Magnorail :)
Take a look here:
http://www.magnorail.com/index_en.html

The new development for Magnorail is cars that are dragged using a slider. See the attached picture.

Magnorail is my 'other' company, that I've just started with two friends.

Sheesh Kai,

I must be half asleep, didn't know about that stuff. Not that it will do me any good, we don't have streets on our layout that will lend themselves to real traffic.

David, I must find a way to add bicycles to my layout.  They look great!  I'm I correct in the conversion of eruo that € 94,50 = $123.49?

@Geoff, it works for cars too with a slider.
Guaranteed that the cars on the magnetic belt will not collide!

Don't fret Hans-Jörg, how does it go: "Ein blindes Huhn findet manchmal auch ein Korn!"  I am at the moment deeply involved with the computerization of my RR. I am using the TrainController and the TrainProgrammer by Freiwald. That's were I came across that application.

No I won't have any cars running on my RR.... I have thought about it and maybe it would look "cool" (to the car-loving visitors) to have a car running along on the Bundesstraße next to the Rhine. However, one car seems to me silly. To install another application like the one suggested in order to run oodles of cars would be introducing another hobby altogether... I am not able, willing and eager. I am not in the process of creating the BC Miniature Wonderland...

As this thread took a left turn I split it.
