Today's new version has two new track libraries:

- H0 Faller AMS
- S MTH S-Trax

Plenty of libraries have had minor updates:
- H0 Kato Unitrack
- H0e Roco
- I Hübner
- N Atlas Code 55
- N Atlas Code 65
- N Atlas Code 80
- N Kato Unitrack
- N Peco Setrack
- N Peco Streamline Code 80
- N Roco
- Z Rokuhan

For the 3D export to Collada, you can now set the up_axis. This is relevant for some 3D viewers that cannot handle the default case of "Y Up".

The overall performance should be better as many things have been optimized further.

And finally, several minor bugs and annoyances have been fixed.

5.8.1 Solves an issue with 'Resume drawing' for lines and surfaces. It also starts up a bit faster.
5.8.2 Solves a bug with connected elements other than track.


P.S. One thing might be annoying, which is that your preferences are cleared. This had to be done for compatibility reasons.
Please open the 'Settings' tab to set measurement system and work area sizes.
Open File/Options/Libraries to select the scales you want to use.
Open File/Options/User objects/Change if your user objects are not in the default place.

I receive error message that some of the updates failed to install properly.  It does not go to 5.8.

Hi Trevor,

Normally, a major version gets a number of minor updates, such as 5.8, 5.9, etc.
Minor releases are about monthly, and contain library updates and sometimes some new functionality.
Major releases are yearly or longer, and contain major new functions, and usually a refreshed user interface and revised manuals.

We never promise or announce new functionality. People that like the software should purchase a license based on the current version.
