Hello All,

Back in April of this year I posted instructions on how to install and run
AnyRail in Linux. It required using the terminal to make the AnyRail msi
installer work in Wine. A lot of Linux newbies dread the terminal; I know
I did! Since then I found a great little freeware program that will make
a msi installer into an exe installer. I tried it and it works great!

Website and download link:

I've updated my instructions to use this, and attached a PDF copy.

I found playonlinux (included in most distributions) an easy way to install MSI or EXE files.  It has a GUI and will also create shortcut's and allow for the installation of extra windows libraries like DirectX etc.

Version 6.* has issues with play on linux/wine which I haven't bothered looking into at all. it is just about useable but doesn't loo nearly as pretty as on native windows and has a weird shadow overlay thing going on. If anyone is interested I'll have a play around and see if I can't get it to behave better.

F.Y.I   I also had problems installing to Linux no matter which version I was using. I then tried Peppermint Linux with the latest version and, viola, done!
