What's new in the Okanagan?

The track is far enough along for operations, next will be plenty of DCC projects. A good number of the engines are rolling, complete with the ZIMO sound decoders and the prototypical sound from Däppen. What's being worked on at present are three panels for the staging sections on both ends.
As soon as the weather regains its level normal — perhaps by the middle of May — there will be more wiring in the garden.
In the meantime I get to play with trains at Samedan aka staging in the garage; letting the engines crawl through all the scratchbuilt track work is a sight to behold.
Oh yes, I really need to shoot some video of that. 

BTW there was extremely sporadic track planning during the winter - you all know that Spring springs tomorrow - on account of skiing and reading taking up a lot of time. There's nothing like getting out there in the sunshine







and having some real fun. The reading kicks in at the end of the day when "two old dogs" are tuckered out.

Update:

All is well in the Okanagan. We already had some 36ºC temperatures, which made building a 1:1 retaining wall in the garden a "hot job".
Mike will be pleased to hear that moving and placing rocks is almost done. Last project for that is building a simile of the rock face the RhB line disappears in after crossing the Landwasser viaduct. World famous location.

Another project is learning how to fly micro drones with HD cameras. For someone of my age and absolutely no background in computer/video games a bit of a challenge. The Micro variety is all of 160mm across the prop guard and really speedy even when set in "newbie" mode at 20 or 25% of "full tilt".
