Well, the time has come (the Walrus said) - my wife and I are heading off tomorrow on a caravan trip around Australia, which is expected to take us two years.  It's something we have been talking about for a few years now, but other factors prevented it.  Now the stars have aligned, so we're outa here!

Those of you on Facebook and/or Instagram may like to follow our progress - follow Big Lap Togs to look at our images (the whole point of the trip).  I've been assured by she-who-must-be-obeyed that train rides are more-or-less compulsory!

My ancient laptop won't run AR6, so I'm making do with AR5 until I can upgrade (hopefully around Christmas time), not that I expect to have much time to spare!

Well, that's great! I only had two weeks this year to travel around in Australia, so I only did 0.001%.
But I travelled in my personal train.

... we were the only passengers between Perth and Toodyay, so they let me in the cockpit :)

I knew it was too good to last (my luck, that is)!

My trusty XP laptop has finally shuffled off (can't even boot up without bluescreenofdeath), so for the time being I have to share my wife's laptop, which hasn't got AR installed (why are you not surprised?).

Of course, I no longer have access to my licence key, so, David, could you please send it to my forum email address?  I don't actually expect to have a lot of time for AR, what with processing an average of 120 images per day, and writing a diary, AND actually going out and doing things, but it will be good to do a bit now and again!

Cheers,

You should have it now. Are you in the caravan park there?

Yes, and yes! Thank you!

It's a beautiful spot, about 100 metres from the River Murray (Australia's biggest river by volume), which is very high at present.  Lots of photo opportunities, such as a nest of Whistling Kites, with chick, about 60 metres offshore, and well within range.

As you can see, I've changed my profile to suit my situation!

Cheers,

Nick
