Reference Marker?

Just a thought.

You know how we have Rulers, which you draw and it automatically shows its length? Well, how about a feature called, say, "Marker", which you can plonk onto a layout and it automatically shows its position?
Maybe it would help with item (or other important reference point) placement in real time, or aligning things when printed 1:1 scale?
