Just wondering on measurements on settings, The unit measure is what width and length are used. So each square if one would be a !/4inch. or no. Bit  confused there. Just before I start trying to design anything.

If you've set the units to inches (as you have), and set the grid size to '1', each square is 1 x 1 inch (1 square inch).
So each value should be read as inches, except for angles, where the units are always 'degrees'.

If you Zoom out, the grid will change the number of squares, so be aware of this. To many square makes it hard to see some times.

I change my grid sometime when adding track, sometimes the squares are 1/2" or 1/4" then change it back to 1."
