Once you have created a circle, is there a way, other than making it into an object, to lock it into remaining a circle?  Once placed, it has 4 control points, each of the corners of a square. You can move it, but you cannot change the size of the circle and keep it a circle, as moving any of the outside control points distorts the object from being a circle.  You must delete it and try again using a different diameter number.  Could it only have 2 control points, one for the center and one for the radius so you can change the size of the circle and not distort it from still being a circle?

Hold SHIFT while dragging a control point, and the circle will remain round ;)

You can also select multiple control points (use CTRL-click to add to your selection) to move them simultaneously for other effects/results.

Didn't know that one, yes it works.  Now, is there a way to edit the radius of the circle by revising the radius number?

David

No, then you have to restart from the INSERT tab, and enter the radius first.

Hmm, in the words of an old but very respected ancient Greek philosopher, "bummer!"  Any chance of that becoming an editable property of a circle in the future?
