Hello, all;

Is there a way to RE number all the layers.

I already have them numbered, but ended up putting 01, 01.1 and 02, 03, 03.3, 04, etc., as I added more and more.

To get things in the right places I had to stick 01.1 between 01 and 02.

I would just like to RENUMBER them, "automatically," of course, so that they read:

01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, etc.

Any hope?

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but if it is what I think it is you need to name your layers with at least 3 leading zeroes because once you get to say 010 it is put after 01 and subsequent numbers follow before you see 02.

If I'm not mistaken just how numbering in a binary system works.  I may be wrong but this is how I number all of my picture files to keep them in order.

The need for 'naming conventions' and relying on names to sort the layers pane (which I do), and all of the other issues with that effort, in my opinion, can be eliminated with an item from a past wish list discussion.

Tom, you are a winner. Thank you.

Just dragging them to where you want them would also save space in the name since they would not need numbers any longer. That would allow the whole column to be narrower, thus making the track plan larger.

Great!

I vote for THIS.

Thank you, Tom
