This is just a bugfix version.

We've lately introduced some extra checks when loading older files, but unfortunately, one of the files from our examples failed on this. This file was created back in 2005, with version 0.140 of the software.

This has been fixed.

I have made updates since I bought the software, but now I realize that I stil have hte 3.27.0?!
It´s installed directly under C:/ as proposed...
When I try to reinstall the latest, I just have repair, remove or uninstall as options...

But when I installed the 3.28.1 it suggested C:/ (not /program) but it´s not there?
Advice please... :-)

Hi Christer,

If you start AnyRail, you can check your version by opening the 'Help' menu, and selecting 'About AnyRail...'.

Once the software is installed in some directory, subsequent installs of newer version will default to that same directory, unless you tell it to be installed elsewhere.

Don't worry, and leave it as it is. However, when a new version is released, install it in 'C:\Program Files\AnyRailEN'.

It's not really a problem when it's in 'C:\', but it's always better to follow the existing conventions.

Hey David.
The problem is that the installer says that it will install in C:/ (nothing ells) and, yes, there is AnyRail. But not 3.28.1, just 3.27.0, from 18:th of May!?

When I check the version, it´s 3.27.0...

And the installer acts as it thinks that it is installed (3.28.1) but it´s not...
If I reinstalls it, I just have the options mentioned earlier; repair, modify or remove...

And it´s not installed at C:/Anyrail either...

Thanks for your quick reply,
Christer

This is sort of strange. You might have two instances of the software installed at the same time.

Could you please uninstall the software first?
To do so, please Click the Windows Start button, select 'Control Panel' and then, depending on your version of Windows, select 'Programs and features' (Vista), or 'Add or remove programs' (XP).
Click 'AnyRailEN' and uninstall it. If there's a second copy of AnyRail, uninstall that one too.

Now, do a fresh install of version 3.28.1
By default, it should now install in 'C:\Program Files\AnyRailEN'.

Yes, that fixed the issue. But strangely, I only had one instance of AnyRailEn.exe, and that was under C:/.
Under the help menu it said 3.27.0 but when I checked it for deleting in the control panel it said latest installation 6/7, yesterdays upgrade...??!

The problem is solved, it´s now under C:/Anyrail...

Allt the best, and thanks for help and a really nice software...!

Hi Christer,

Is it in 'C:\AnyRailEN' or in 'C:\Program Files\AnyRailEN'? It should be in the latter.

Sorry, didn´t see your post...
Yes, it´s under C:/Program/Anyrail, as it should be.
Thanks again,

hi i have downloaded and used this version on my home pc, laptop and a work PC. i did have the earlier veriosn installed on another workj PC. i have tried downloading and installing the new version but all i get is this

THE FEATURE YOU ARE TRYING TO USE IS ON A NETWORK RESOURSE THAT IS UNAVAILABLE

i have tried installing from all locations and also from the download rather than saving. i have downloaded and installed this on another work PC so i can't understand this. i have also unistalled the older version but this hasn't worked also.

David

It has probably nothing to do with a new version of AnyRail.

It might have to do with the Windows Installer environment being 'corrupted' for some reason.

You might want to try the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to fix this:

Please let me know if it helps!
