Re-sizing a rectangle and keep the angles fixed.

Is there a way, or can the be a way, to keep the angles as they currently are but be able to stretch the legs of a rectangle or, in fact, any polygon?  Currently, once there is a rectangle, to change the size you must move each point and that wrecks the angles unless you use snap, which you can do.  It would be nice and far easier to be able to lock the angles and just resize the legs of a rectangle or square or any polygon.

I am not aware of a method to do this, but I agree, it could be very useful.

If you drag a point while holding SHIFT, you scale the rectangle.
If you drag a side (line) while holding SHIFT, you move only that side.

Hee Haa! It does work!!! And it does not need to be a rectangle, it works for shapes created with a bunch of lines as well.
