out of scale track pieces and turnouts

when i begin a drawing and have selected a track library, i click on a turnout for instance, when i try to drag and drop, the turnout is grossly too large ........... a number 8 turnout shows about three feet long. how do i resize them to scale?

Everything has the size it has in reality. So a turnout one foot long is one foot in AnyRail.

Then you have the view scale. If you set it to 1:12, the same turnout is shown with a length of 1 inch.
This is an approximation on the screen. The larger your screen, the larger it is of course.
