Harking back to a previous discussion again, but I wonder whether it would be possible, in the Text Options, to set a default font?

I have a couple of fonts I like to use, and it would be handy to set one or other of them as the default, when I am writing lots of notes (which may be in several layers, so selecting a layer and changing a font is not necessarily quicker).
