Identifying Sections

I have found in the past that my method of identifying sections and turnouts for wiring and switch numbering was rather cluttering up the plan. Trying to name sections and turnouts in the way that British railways do can make for rather long names.

For turnouts, I Label each one with its panel switch number. I used to add its name, but now I do that in the documentation (if I bother), as Label text can get very small if you try to put in too much info. For Sections, I find I can use the Usage field to name the Section, which can be turned off on the display. So I might name a Section "T01" and the Usage as "Pottersbridge Station Up Approach". While I'm working on the plan, such as currently when I am doing the wiring, I only need the panel switch number, so I uncheck the Usage.

When I get to planning the timetable, all those section names will be useful; the List of Sections will help there.

Cheers, and Season's Greetings to All
