We've built in a check to prevent overwriting version 6 files with an unlicensed version 7, so that you won't be forced into purchasing a version 7 license because of 'losing' your work made with a licensed version 6. If that is not it, please let me know!
Thanks David, that would explain it. Probably the prompt I need to upgrade
EDIT: done, issue 1 successfully resolved by upgrading v7 - thanks :)

@Erik: In the list of materials, the number of connections is displayed at the end.

Hi David, for two joining rails, the connections = 2?

David

@Erik, If you just connect two pieces of track, the number of connections is 1, but you will (probably) need 2 fishplates, one per rail.

David,
I am using a bottom of the barrel laptop and now is almost FULL, with my very limited experience of Computers, I am able, to do most things, but am I able to MOVE THE FORUM FILE that is rather big and move it to another EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE (D), that hooked to the Laptop via a USB Cable is in an effort to make a bit of space of my MAIN HARD DRIVE(C).
Using V6 and now v7
v7.0.16

Thanks Kiwi42

Congratulations on the update.  ;D  ;D  ;D

I still see that when you print a plan the small segments you do not see the track type number. It would be nice to be able to see that number without writing by hand on paper.

David,

I just delete that problem track last night and now picked up another piece and moved that around and changed the length to 914.5, all is ok so far.
I am going to the Club this morning to see what happens there with THEIR VERSION.

more later perhaps

The Track Planner

David,

Bug Fix - When I create a surface it no longer snaps to grid? I've changed the grid to various sizes no change, still doesn't snap to grid? Yes, the "snap to grid" box is checked.

Thanks,

Version 7.0 looks good!

I have a query: has the snap to grid behaviour changed? I've tried changing grid size and turning snap on and off but I don't appear to be able to get objects (rectangles) to snap to the grid.

David

@Bill, @Graeme: Snapping surfaces will work again in the next update.

Hello David,

is it correct one cannot change window size smaller than 2 rows of track parts?

I connected track library to main window and cannot shrink it to a row.

David

@BR430: Do you mean a docked library at the top of the window?

ON the track libraries tab is there anyway to rearrange the order of the scales libraries? I have selected as defaults to only show N, Ho and O scale as those are the 3 scales 99.9% of the railroads I design are in. Of those only about 10% are O scale but that is the default first on the tab (to the left) and it is automatically opened. I would like to change this so HO (which is 70% of the layouts I design) to be the one on the left that automatically open when I select the track libraries tab.
