No, not really, as too many things have changed internally. The recent file list and your registration are copied automatically.

HELLO,

I accidentally opened my ongoing project with the new Version 7 and now can't go back to the latest version. Unfortunateluy because I encounter various bugs in the new one. Here is a random list:

Already mentioned when opening a project there is a message about a crash (when nothing has crashed). Tried to send a report but did not succeed as the meessage is overlayed with the logo and can.t be read completely.

When gluing trackparts to the plan you still can move it around. In the last version iT really was glued, now it is not.

When setting the height of the track I occasionally encounter problems that these are not adjusted. Other times I notice the heights have changed inexplicably.

When opening aN existing project various things like (rail) libraries and layers do not open. In the case of layers you have to close and open the project again. Libraries have to be opened again and again. This is annoying.

Very often when I open ANYRAIL the language is set to English again. Not that I don't understand the language but I prefer my own, Nederlands as default.

All in all there are some good features in the new version 7 but it is not nice working with it yet. Too many bugs.

@Lobomotion: Thanks for the feedback.

We have tested for months before release with over a dozen people, but apparently, not all problems were found yet.

Since release last week, we've seen a few thousand installations, and received a number of bug reports. In some cases, we found that it has to do with missing Windows updates. Most seem to concentrate on one issue regarding printer settings.

If the program crashes, it will produce a crash report. In most cases, it will also reset the program to its initial state when you start it again, so switching the language back to its default, closing all the libraries,  etc.

It would be helpful if you send us the crash report. If that does not work immediately, you can save it and send it as an attachment to an email.

About your other points:
Would you please be so kind to send us a track plan with glued track where the glue does not work? Please note that in V7, track is glued to a table top as opposed to the work area, so if you move a table top, the glued track moves along with it.


Do you have an example of the height setting problems so we can reproduce it here and see what happens?


As in AnyRail 6, open libraries and the layers pane are bound to the user, not to the track plan. If you want to open the libraries for the current track plan, use the 'Open used libraries' button on the Home tab.


Of course I understand that it's annoying, but we really focus on getting those last few bugs out!

As I said before the report can't be send because the message is overlayed with the Anyrail logo. Only the top portion can be read, nothing on the lower half. It is what it is, I'm not clairvoyant.
What is the table top?

@Lobomotion: No worries, but you should be able to move the message window through the gaps in the logo.

The table top is the train table. You can insert a table top from the Insert tab.
By the way, looking at your email address, are you Dutch? In that case, perhaps we can further discuss this via email in Dutch.

If you have a license for AnyRail 7, there's no reason to keep AnyRail 6.

I got to start a new layout 96x48 (4x8) and to pieces are hudge in version 6 they would fit on the layout 4 x 8 backdrop they are hudge now. What do I have set wrong? Any help would be appreciated!
