N Scale on a 2x4 foot layout

HI folks,

After many years since building a train layout, I thought I would try building an N scale layout on a 2x4 foot board as a starter. I would like it to be at least a double loop, which implies an outer of an 11 degree radius and an inner loop with a 9.75 degree radius. The 11 degree radius pushes every thing to the edge of the board which could make tunnels and mountain scenery somewhat difficult, but part of this exercise is try my hand at doing scenery as well. My plan is to use Kato unitrack. I've searched around the internet to get ideas for a plan, but most seem to simple or to complex (for a beginner anyway).

I don't want to change the layout size due to space. So with that as a requirement, does anyone have advise as to problems or things I need to be aware of?

Asymmetrical double-track main in 2' X 4' (barely!) with switching opportunities.  Could even elevate the inner loop a bit for scenic interest.

I don't know how much "wiggle room" Kato Unitrak allows, so I went to extreme lengths to get the connections as exact as I could.  For example, I used 4x38 mm + 33 mm to make a 185 mm straight rather than using a 186 mm section.  I suspect a single section of track a millimeter too long would me more practical.  But I got the red diamond to go away!
