The ability to SET the default height of new objects.
Currently, new objects are placed on the layout at the height set as "SHOW" in settings. The ability to set a specific height for new objects rather than the default "show" height would be great!

My reasoning is this. I want to see everything 800mm and above but working on a surface at 1000mm, when I drag or "click" an object into the layout, it's not visible.

We advise to set the default height at 0, so the top of the train table is your reference.
This is a lot easier when designing, and also whe you're actually building the layout.
Using the floor as your reference is impractical.

Indeed, if you set the 'View in height lower limit' to 800, new objects will be inserted at that height.
