Version 7 auto-connect vs. Version 6

Is there a way to make v7 work like v6 with track connections?

In version 6 and 7, moving a track end point close to another results in a blue circle indicating that the track is going to jump to, and connect to that track.

However, in version 6, only that connection is made. In version 7, if the other end of the track is near another piece of track, it connects to it also. Even if the connection is off. A red circle highlights the bad or less than perfect connection. Now I have to disconnect that connection and move it. An extra step over v6.

There are unintended consequences of this, too. Often after disconnecting and moving the track to get it to connect correctly, the far end of the track has connected to another section. This was not a problem in v6.

This only happens when the track ends fit within the tolerances on the Settings tab.
If you don't want this to happen decrease the values there.

A red diamond only means that the angle is more than 0.3 degrees off, or that the distance is greater than 0.5mm.
So when it appears it doesn't necessarily mean that the connection is terribly bad.

I'm not seeing that behavior. Does the "tolerance" setting tell the program when to put the two blue circles when you move two connections close to each other? Or is there another setting?

I changed it. I'm getting connections that look like this, which never happened in v6. So I don't understand why v7 does this. It isn't an improvement in my opinion.

Update: Okay, I don't think AnyRail is using the Tolerance setting until it is changed. I opened up another layout and the tolerance was 3. I got auto-connects that were 13+ mm apart (worse than shown above). I changed the Tolerance from 3 to 4 (made it bigger) and that stopped the bad connections.

The tolerances are set and saved per track plan. For N gauge you will probably use other tolerances than for O gauge.
