Hi All. Just introducing myself. I'm just getting started in model railroading and new to AnyRail. I have a question perhaps someone can answer. I am drawing a layout part of which is a 180 degree curve using Radius 3 Peco Set Track Code 100. The curve starts off with two ST231s curving to the left which make 90 degrees. Next is a left curved turnout ST245 (22.5 - 33.75 degrees). From there I cannot find a combination of R3 curves to complete 180 degrees.  Its almost like it needs another ST231 plus an R3 with an arc of 11.25 but this is not in the data base. Should I perhaps be using flextrack to complete the curve? I am sure there must be an obvious answer and am missing it!
Thanks for any assistance
Paul

Welcome Paul!

You'll find that if you post your question and attach your drawing many will download it. Several users will take a look and respond with a solution.

Not sure this is what you are looking for but it may help.  Not all R3 curves though.

Hi Vic,
Thanks for the reply and advice. Any Rail file attached.

The outside curve using R3 is the one I am having trouble with.

Best Regards

Hi,

I'm not familiar with this Peco Setrack system, but I like to fiddle around sometimes, finding out geometries of unknown systems and I'm usually a quick learner at that.
So on this case I found out that the curved turnouts consist of R2 curves only, staggered by a straight of the same length as the standard parallel distance of 67 mm.
So the curved turnouts don't fit inside an R3 curve.

(Which could be easily solved if the system had a straight track of 67 mm, same as the parallel distance.
Every system should have such a piece... too many systems don't have it, which I don't understand.)

I hope this clears it up a bit for you,

Greetings Victor (NL)

See, told Ya! - The AnyRailers love a challenge.

I gave it a go with and without set track.  Flexible track almost always solves the issue.

Looks like my afternoon alter ego VictorPM has yet another solution.

Enjoy!

Just to show how useful a 67 mm straight track would be.
