I'm having issues after installing this version. The program will not launch because the .exe file (supposedly - AnyRail7.7.1.exe) doesn't exist. After several attempts, I finally decided to uninstall AnyRail, and then reinstall AnyRail V7.6.4.

Whew! Back in business!

5:15 The AnyRail V7.6.4 splash screen is displayed and the program launches.
5:24 As before, I attempt to launch AnyRail by double-clicking an existing AnyRail layout.
5:25 The program launches as expected with my existing layout displayed.

I'm old, and  mostly bald, but what little is left is grey, so I might be missing something here.

ANY help or ideas will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

One thing that I was told many years ago, probably by David on this Forum, is to close the old version of AR once the first update dialog box appears. I've never had a problem since. The Update program is entirely separate from AR, so it will continue if you close the old AR.

It looks like either the Windows file associations are incorrect after installing, or your virus scanner does not allow AnyRail 7.7.1 to run.

Perhaps you can install 7.7.1 once again, and see what the properties of the created shortcut (on the task bar or in the Windows menu) say.

Als, you can open the Windows explorer and go to C:\Program Files\AnyRail7 and double click the executable file to see if it starts.

Thanks Nick the Cabin Boy. I gave that a try. Sadly, no joy.

BINGO! We have a WINNER! Give that man a Kewpie doll!

PC Matic® (which I've been using for many years) is/was/is the culprit. For some reason, it decided that THIS version of AnyRail was somehow dangerous and placed it on a "Do Not Run" list (it didn't do that before with previous versions). Once I instructed PC Matic®  that AnyRail V7.7.1 was safe, all is now well in my own little world.

BTW - I also needed to let PC Matic®  know that AnyRail Updater is ALSO safe (it was giving me warning shots).

Thanks to all for your help and direction!

AnyRail.com/forum, What a great place to be! 😃💖😄

Well, PC Matic is not very effective then as it let the program run straight after installation!
If I recall correctly, we've had this same issue years ago with another PC Matic user.

But of course, I'm glad the problem is resolved!
