I have version 7.8.3

The section labels always appear with a black background and letters in a color that I can't make out nor read.  :'(

How can I get rid of the black background and font colors to something readable ?  :o

Hello Richard!

The black background can be changed by clicking File - Options - Text, and selecting a different colour for the Shield, or, if you prefer, uncheck the Shield box, which gives you no background at all. The colour of the text itself in a section is determined by the colour you have selected for the track in that section. As you will see, you can change the font for the labels, so you might be able to find one that suits you better.

After a change in AnyRail some time ago, I found a better (for me) way of labelling sections. On my plans, every section is named as the panel switch number, then the description names the section. That way, I only need to show the switch number on the screen, but viewing/printing the list of sections gives me the name.

Cheers,

Nick

Wow, all I can say is that was well hidden & Chat Gpt gave me wrong answers.

Thank you.

Question: What do you mean by panel switch number. I don't understand that paragraph.

Hi Richard,

Panel switch number means the number of the toggle-switch on my control panel, so I might have:

Section Name    Section Description
     T1           Pottersbridge Platform 1

Elsewhere, on my wiring schedule, I record what type of switch it is, which pin it is on which connector at the back of the panel, etc.

But, for most work on the wiring or for timetable purposes, I only need to know which switch to use, so I only show Section Name (in this case, T1).

I was trying to ensure that you understood my use of the word switch!

Cheers,

Nick
