Moving track , etc, between layers

Lets see if you can beat your last night's response time of 11 minutes time! Wow!!

David, is there an easy way to "click" on some object and move it to another layer?

I know we can put them onto the clipboard, but when I forget which layer is on top I can make quite a mess of things placed on wrong layers.

Something like a "send to" button to quickly scrub items from one layer to another.

If you click something it is automatically selected, and the appropriate tab comes up on the Ribbon.

Here, you can select a new layer for the selected object(s).

Of course, you can select multiple objects at once to move them together.
