Line/Surface behavior

There seems to be either a  problem or an inconsistency to the Line/Surface tool. When you drop points to draw a line and stop, AR stops additions (in a certain way). If you come back and move one of the end points to overlap the other end point, it does not 'close the loop' and create a 'solid' object, as it DOES do if you do the very same thing when you originally draw the line.

Also, when you DO create a Surface (or solid object), you can't select it by clicking the interior of the shape/surface. That doesn't seem logical. It's much easier to click a surface than it is to try to click a line, especially when zoomed out a way.
