If possible, both 'copies' of AnyRail, the whole window, with the 'Home' tab opened, and the problematic track configuration.

Switching on 'Height on slopes' and 'Height on plains' on the 'Home' tab might clarify things a bit as well.

Hi David

The size of the layout is such that without zooming in it would be impossible to read but what appears when 'Heights on Plains' is enabled is at the point tracks vainsh there is a change of height from 48ins to 54.6ins which could have occurred if they were inadvertantly laid on the wrong layer of this layout (storage tracks below the main running boards) and then the layer they were on corrected.

I would presume that the height difference for some reason is suddenely seen as too far apart to connect, but why do they dissapear rather than just show unconnected ?

Originally I did try to set heights and gradients a few months agao but found it rather cumbersome so dropped it in favour of using multiple layers e.g. mainboard, upper, lower, and interconnecting slopes, required ones made visible as required.

So if I correct all the levels all should become stable again, is there a global way of doing it ?

David

When you connect track having endpoints with uneven heights, the height of the attached endpoint will be set to the height of the existing endpoint.

So, if you've set the upper and lower limit in a certain way, track could become invisible as soon as you connect it as its elevation is changed.

The upper and lower limit (in the 'Home' tab), can be used as an alternative way to create a horizontal slice of your layout, provided all the heights are correct ;)

One simple and quick way to reset the height for all track is to press CTRL-A (for select all), then select the greenish 'Track' tab on the Ribbon, and click the 'Set height...' function. In the dialog box, enter '0', and press OK.

Hope this helps!
